Vocab-a-toons
The LINX strategy for remembering new words has 5 elements:
1.  the vocabulary word
2.  the  definition of the word
3.  a rhyming word or phrase
4.  a  funny/interesting sentence that uses the word and the rhyme AND shows the definition
5.  a cartoon-ish picture that illustrates the sentence.

Create a "vocab-a-toon" much like the one published by New Monic books below!  To remember the word, attempt to create a play on words ("truck-you-lent") and to show the meaning of the word (the truck causing a conflict).  Keep your 'toons in the class notes section of your notebook and be sure to study them for upcoming quizzes.
