Hello Parents! Welcome to high school. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with your children. It is truly an honor to teach them. Ninth grade is perhaps the most important year in high school. This is the year your teenagers will establish learning habits that will see them through to graduation. My goal is to help them build habits of mind that will enable them to become successful, high achieving democratic citizens capable of using technology responsibly, making complex decisions and reading challenging texts. In order to meets these goals, I need your help. I need you to talk to your students about what is happening at school. If you are available, volunteer to help out in the classroom as an AVID tutor, clerical aid or guest speaker. Participate in special events we hold in class. There are many things you can do to support your students as they transition into high school. Most, if not all, of my lesson plans and handouts will be posted here in my virtual classroom.
