Do: Fold a sheet of notebook paper in quarters.  Put a these character's name at the top of each box (front and back):  Tyrone, Diondra, Devon, Lupe, Janelle, Shelia, Mr. Ward [

[I'm thinking of having students revisit the characters pages after we finish... and just read those or re-examine how the repeated characters keep the narrative structure together(that's one option--another would be to go back to the book, go back to the notes they generated to see how Grimes builds these characters then to show that they understand that have them write an analysis or portrait of a NON repeating character in the same format narrative followed by poetry).]
